My hands are hurting
Really really badly. But I still feel the need to blog; it’s been too long since my last sojourn (of consequence) into my weblog. So, what’s happened lately? I scored a 100 on my last engineering test, and suddenly I’m talking to more than a few number of people that I’ve never met before. I delight in dashing peoples’ unreasonable expectations: “Oh, you got a 100 on that last test, you must be a genius. So, have you finished the project yet?”, “No, actually, would you mind helping me out on this task?” Ah yes, life is sweet. And I was forced into writing and delivering a sermon, which I thought would be a bomb, but actually turned out to be a hit. Of course, I was just reaping the wind, but no one caught on. Maybe I’ll post that sermon sometime– I have been thinking of making a repository of all my writings. And I do mean all: from every little thank-you note to every term paper. It would save me much time; instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, I could just adapt one of my previous writings. At least, it would make me feel more confident in my own writing skills not to have to refer to someone else everytime I want to write a letter; at most, I would have an uber meaningful database of my writings, for use in charting my development, and reference.
I still fantasize of overhauling the site, ripping out the banal layouts and gauche CSS. In short, of gaining some artistic ability. But my efforts are stymied by my hands, my lack of creativity, and my aversion to skimming CSS or layout tips from someone else’s site. When I do my site up right, it must be unique. In for a penny, in for a pound, right? So this summer, I plan to learn 3DS MAX, and brush up on my PS and AI skills. My site will have original graphics at some point. And when I become competent in design, it will be redesigned. I fantasize of having a simple, neat, ordered layout like scottandrew.com’s.
