Random plans for the week
I finished my assignments for the week, so I have three days of grace until the weekend, which I plan to use to continue studying Feller and another book I started reading on stochastic differential equations. Just reading the first chapter of that book is a pleasure: it’s a rapidfire review of the measure theoretic aspects of probability that has just enough detail to tantalize me into consulting other references or working out a few more details for myself, but not so much as to bore or entangle me. A find line to tread.
Friday is the last day of classes, and then this weekend I’m hitting the books for my finals. In particular, I’m going to focus on the asymptotics stuff– which I don’t feel I learned, so much as picked around– and the numerical methods stuff– which is relatively straightforward, but we’ll have a closed book final in there. The 101 final will be posted this Thursday, so I’ll give that a quick look over to guide my studying of the asymptotics.
And at some point I have to start exercising to get back into some sort of shape so when I return to karate next term I don’t completely lack stamina.

What is the stochastic DE book? It sounds pretty good…
